Midtown Businesses Work Together to Boost Sales During Construction
Saturday Super Sale at Sticks Center in Midtown
Businesses at the Sticks Center in Midtown are working together to boost sales during construction of the Virginia Street Project. The businesses are holding a joint super sale on Saturday, February 2 from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. to encourage the community to continue to support Midtown businesses.
“The community has done a great job of supporting our businesses during construction and we want everyone to continue coming to Midtown,” said Katherine Bock, owner of Sierra Belle Boutique. “Your support keeps us going during construction and we hope to see everyone on Saturday at our super sale!”
The following retail businesses are participating and offering clothing sales, bath and body product sales, and furniture and decoration sales from 25% to 75% off:
- Transcend Interiors
- Sierra Belle Boutique
- Dragonfly Bath and Body
- Nomad Boutique
Savvy shoppers who visit the retail locations and present their receipt from one of the above-mentioned businesses at the following restaurants will also receive these discounts:
- Two Chicks – 10% off purchase from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
- Mari Chuy’s Mexican Kitchen – 10% off purchase from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
- Basik Acai Cafe – Discounted Super Bowls
- Whispering Vine – $5 greyhounds, $5 screwdrivers, and $3 mimosas from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. (Sticks location only)

Share your healthy Midtown experience on social media using #VirginiaStreetProject during the month of February. We will randomly select a recipient every week to receive a gift card/certificate to a participating Midtown business. Participating businesses include: Basik Acai Cafe, Sports West Athletic Club, Hello Yoga, The Studio, Pinnacle Wellness and Spa and Martial Arts on the Move.
Construction Update
Tahoe Street and part of St. Lawrence Avenue are temporarily closed for approximately five days for utility work. The closures will take place on weekdays starting Wednesday, January 30 through approximately Tuesday, February 5.
Tahoe Street will be closed from St. Lawrence Avenue to Forest Street. St. Lawrence Avenue will be closed from Tahoe Street to Forest Street. During the closure, construction crews will have flaggers in place to assist customers driving to Peerless Dry Cleaners and Laughing Planet.
Additional temporary parking for this area is available in the marked parking lot behind the Ponderosa Hotel, near the intersection of Forest and Tahoe Streets.
Week of February 4, 2019
- Northbound Virginia Street detour is extended to Regency Way until February 6 for storm drain installation. Please use signed detours.
- Lane shifts on Virginia Street throughout the project.
Adjacent Projects
The RTC project team is
coordinating closely with other
construction projects happening near the
corridor.
NV Energy is working on
a gas main replacement on Wells Avenue,
between Moran Street and Ryland Street.
